Security Briefing
LSB Steganography: This tool modifies the least significant bits of image pixels to hide data. It is invisible to the naked eye.
Private: Processing occurs entirely in your browser memory. No data is sent to a server.

The LSB Technique
SteganoVault utilizes Least Significant Bit (LSB) steganography. This method replaces the lowest bit of each pixel's color channel with a bit of your secret data. Because these bits represent the smallest possible change in color, the visual difference is imperceptible to the human eye, making the image a perfect secret container.
Step-by-Step Workflow
Select a high-resolution PNG image. This file acts as the host for your message.
Type or paste the message you want to hide. The application will monitor the character count to ensure it fits within the image's pixel capacity.
Click the "Embed" button. The system will process the image and prepare a modified version containing your hidden text.
Download the resulting image. It is critical to keep this file in its original format to preserve the hidden data bits.
To retrieve data, simply upload the modified image into the "Extract" section. The tool will automatically scan the LSBs to reconstruct the original message.
Usage Requirements
- No Image Processing: Do not resize, crop, or apply filters to the image after embedding, as this will overwrite the secret bits.
- Lossless Transfer: When sharing the image, use services that do not compress files (e.g., email attachments or cloud storage links). Sending via social media apps often destroys the hidden data.
- File Format: Always use PNG. Lossy formats like JPG will corrupt the hidden bits during the saving process.
